Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ.
Each year FBC promotes the Operation Christmas Child ministry within the church and in the Dighton area. It serves as a local collection point for gift-filled shoe boxes. One year a team of members traveled to the Denver shipping center to help package and ship these boxes to world-wide locations.
Beginning this year, in addition to filling shoe boxes FBC will also served as a relay center for Operation Christmas Child. During the national collection week over 400 area boxes were brought to the FBC collection point. At the end of this week, FBC transported all of these shoe boxes to the regional collection center in Dodge City. Over 8,700 boxes were collected in Dodge City and sent to the regional center in North Carolina for international shipment.
